Keeping you healthy in 2021 Our quality performance in 2020 BCBSNM is committed to your health and well-being. We offer information and programs to help our network of providers better care for our members. This is called quality improve- ment. Every year, the BCBSNM quality improvement program looks at the care our members get. We want to know if BCBSNM and network provid- ers are doing well and what we can do better. The aim of our quality program is to help you get healthy and stay healthy. Every year, the quality plan is written with key goals and objectives that focus on improv- ing your health care experience. Some of our goals are: ■ Working to improve health care ■ Improving member satisfaction ■ Monitoring and improving member safety ■ Getting you access to the care you need ■ Improving our customer service ■ Ensuring those with special health care conditions get access to the care they need ■ Encouraging members to go for their exams and tests The quality improvement goals are a team effort. The program goals for health care and services are developed with input from providers and you, our members. All programs lead back to the main goal: improving health for our members. BCBSNM is accredited by the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA). NCQA is a group that helps people learn more about health care plans around the country. BCBSNM maintained its NCQA accredita- tion for 2020. Our main goal is to help you get healthy and stay healthy. Some areas that we focus on are diabetes, asthma, preg- nancy, hypertension (high blood pressure), and behavioral health care. We might have contacted you in 2020 about preventive care. It is important to us that you can get the care you need, when you need it. You may receive information based on your health needs. We would like for you to use this information to help take care of yourself. BCBSNM met most of our goals during 2020. Every year, we look at our results. This happens after the Healthcare Effectiveness Data and Informa- tion Set (HEDIS) audit. We looked at medical records to see if you were getting the exams and tests that you needed to manage your health. You may have questions about our quality program. If so, you can call the Quality Improvement department at 855-699-0042 (TTY: 711 ). 10 Blue for Your Health Spring 2021
